Sample submission

How to submit samples for testing

From the first enquiry through to the report, and what to send with your consignment.

Testing starts with a conversation, not a courier. Before anything is sent, we agree what needs measuring, which techniques suit the material, and what it costs. That way your samples arrive against a confirmed scope instead of waiting for one.

If you already know what you need, download the requisition form, fill it in, and send it with the consignment.

The process, step by step

Eight stages from your first enquiry to the analytical report.

  1. Send an enquiry

Tell us what the material is and what you need measured. Call the laboratory, email us, or use the enquiry form. There is no charge for an enquiry and no obligation to proceed.

  2. Discuss the testing requirement

We confirm which techniques suit the material and what the results will actually tell you. If a parameter needs a method you have to cite to a customer or a regulator, this is the point to say so.

  3. Receive a quotation

A written quotation covering the tests agreed, per sample. Ask for it against the exact sample count you intend to send, because per sample pricing changes with quantity.

  4. Confirm the testing

Approve the quotation in writing. Confirmation is what books the work in, so a sample that arrives before this step waits rather than starts.

  5. Submit the sample

Send or deliver the consignment to the Ghatkopar address with a completed requisition form. Label every container so the name on it matches the name on the form.

  6. Sample registration

Each sample is logged against your requisition form and given its own identity, which is what the tests and the eventual report are recorded against.

  7. Testing and analysis

The agreed tests are carried out and the results are reviewed before anything is issued.

  8. Report issuance

You receive the analytical report for the registered samples. If a result raises a question, we would rather talk it through than leave you reading a number without context.

What the requisition form asks for

Worth having to hand before you fill it in.

Your company

  • Company name
  • Company address
  • GST number
  • Name, contact number and email of your technical officer
  • Name, contact number and email of your finance or accounts officer
  • Signature and company stamp

The samples

  • Sample name, with room for five samples on one form
  • The test or tests required against each sample
  • Powder or liquid
  • Hazardous or non-hazardous
  • Lachrymator or non-lachrymator

The nature of the sample is not a formality. Whether the material is a powder or a liquid, whether it is hazardous, and whether it is lachrymatory all determine how the consignment is handled on arrival, so declare it accurately even when it seems obvious.

Not sure which tests to name on the form? Browse the analytical techniques or find your material under product analysis, or simply describe the problem in an enquiry and let us suggest the method.
